Advanced Metalworking Practices, LLC, (AMP) was founded in 1988 BY Dr. Koshor M. Kulkarni, who saw an opportunity to create feedstock for the relatively new area of metal injection molding or MIM technology. Feedstock is a highly engineered mixture of metal powders and organic binder, which is the raw material to produce small complex parts with injection molding, a process commonly used with plastics.
The company’s feedstock – available in our industry-first Advamet® wax-based or Advacat® POM-based binder systems – is ideally suited for complex parts used in medical, automotive, firearms and industrial applications. AMP also offers Adva-Renew feedstock rejuvenation and Adva-Toll toll processing services.
AMP has a 15,000 sq. ft. (1393 sq. m.) production and testing facility, which features several mixers and blenders and specialized instruments such as extrusion plastometers for checking feedstock viscosity and a helium pycnometer for density measurement. The company also has a 50-ton injection molder, thermal debinding capabilities, and a high temperature ceramic tube sintering furnace so that it can process test samples for customers. AMP becomes a strong link in the supply chain, coordinating product shipments that meet a customer’s production schedule. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is headquartered in Carmel, IN, near Indianapolis.
AMP takes great pride in providing high-quality products and services to our customers and in the high quality of our products. We are committed to continuously upgrading technology, maintaining facilities and equipment, and recruiting and training a well-qualified staff. We start with top quality raw materials and focus attention on every detail in the manufacturing and QC/QA stages.
